woodrowgerber (aka Chad Gerber) is an American guitarist/songwriter/producer/composer/vocalist from Los Angeles, CA. He has released several studio albums under different bands, labels, and project titles since 1998. His music receives radio airplay worldwide and has been featured in many snowboard, surf, overlanding, travel, and indie films. He has toured the US extensively since 2000, performed on NPR's A Prairie Home Companion (broadcast simultaneously to 5 million listeners), performed on the Vans Warped Tour, worked with multiplatinum selling artist Aloe Blacc, and been featured in publications and webzines internationally. In 2013, woodrowgerber released "in the beginning" followed by an instrumental album "Spillway", both receiving critical acclaim and reaching the top ten on multiple underground/indie charts throughout the US.
woodrowgerber first received radio airplay at the age of 18 for his song As An Angel off a 4 song demo he recorded in Miami Florida with a friend. The demo led to him being heard by a Dallas based hip hop duo, who later brought him on tour as guitar player, and gave him the "woodrow" portion of his nickname. After touring and working in the studio with the band, woodrowgerber began forming, writing, and performing in bands nationwide while scoring music for different projects.
In 2008 his band The Suicide Denial released their debut record "I'm Sorry LA" followed by their 2nd release "We'll Go Down Fighting" in 2011. In the fall of 2011 Chad released a folk album under the title Chad Gerber Presents Heights Alliance, and in 2012 released a few other projects with various bands in the underground electronica scene. After a run in with an ex-con posing as a tour promoter later that summer, woodrowgerber decided to regroup and head back into the studio to begin working on an idea he had been interested in creating for several years: a musical blend from his background in hip hop, rock, electronica, folk, classical, and the singer songwriter genres. An idea that would blend multiple art mediums and challenge the concept of "albums" and how music should be consumed. He began collaborating with visual artists, photographers, film makers, and created and released over 40 original songs in 2013.
In 2014 woodrowgerber will be releasing his new soundtrack XO for Expedition Overland, releasing a supernatural adventure graphic novel (inspired by real events) with Australian artist Silva, and begin production on the music for his next record along with several woodrowgerber scores and creative collaborations with film makers and other performing artists.
